I have the same set up. Pace Car Mufflers w/ the WCC Tru X Pipe. I'm happy with the sound. They could be louder, but some long tubes will fix that. I had them installed together, so i never heard the mufflers without a x pipe. It pops, especially on deceleration. Which i like! And it's mellow at cruise, and wicked when you open it up! It almost sounds like an exotic car, like a Ferrari or something when your really gettin on it. And the Tiger Shark tips are beautiful!
How is an X-Pipe installed? From what I understand the C5 has dual walled pipes. Do you not have to replace the cats when installing an X-pipe?
I am interested in switching the exhaust from the cats back on my 98..but I was affraid that I had to replace the cats which is more money than I wanted to spend.

This photo shows where the pipes are cut behind the cats. I used a cheapo chain cutter I bought at Harbor Freight to cut the pipes. Slide the x-pipe over the pipes you just cut, but I would suggest you attach the rear flanges and adjust your mufflers and tips before finally clamping the X-pipe at the front.
I have the Corsa Indy setup and I really want to get rid of the popping, but I don't want to loose the WOT sound. I have a Corsa x-pipe that has been sitting in my garage for a few months now, and based on what I have read lately I don't know if I am going to install it. From what I have read, it won't totally eliminate the popping and it might quiet it down more than I want. Hopefully I will figure this out soon, since I need to either install the x-pipe or sell it - man, I hate this!
A word of caution, my 2004 had a little rattle that sounded like exhaust. The wizards at Chevrolet put in a new H pipe to take care of this noise. It didnt....but heres the punchline...the new H pipe had longer tubes behind the cats than the old one so they cut the tubes on the cats instead of the H pipe. When I had my Bassanni X pipe put on, it was too short. They had to weld extensions on the cats to fit. Before anyone cuts they should measure the H pipe first if they dont know the history of the vehicle.
