Not sure if all installs are created equal but my stingers do DRONE from 1900 - 2500 RPM. I will be trying a partition / sunsheild to quiet a bit. I am also going to talk with some installers at Carlisle to see if there is some "tweaking" that can be done.
I can not talk on the phone in the above RPM ranges and conversations are strained.
Im interested in the difference an Xpipe makes in sound too. I have very little popping because I have an A4, but I wouldn't mind the drone I get at certain speeds gone.
If you are interested, I will have a Bassani X-pipe available next week for sale. The addition of an X-pipe reduces popping and makes the exhaust note a bit throatier sounding especially at idle and at cruzing speeds. I'm selling this X-pipe because I'm having headers with Hi-flow cats installed right now and the Bassani X-pipe will not fit or work with this combo.

I do LOVE the sound above 2500.
if you have a six speed a lot of us just shift around that RPM range. Also, a partition will help reduce road and tire noise but hardly has any effect with drone.
I just put my stingers on over the weekend. Sounds great, could have been a little louder. A good deep melow sound. It screams when you get on it. No real drone, just slightly at about 1300 rpms, but not enough to bother me. I actually like the hum.
