Default Routine Maintenance Advice

I have an '02 Z06 with 21K. Its not my DD and due to my past job duties, I didn't get to drive it that much. Nevertheless, the car is 4.5 yrs old. What routine maintenance should I do at this age.

So far I've flushed the brake fluid, changed most of the radiator fluid(drained petcock and removed thermostat housing resulting in approx 2 gallons replaced), and keep clutch master cylinder with fresh fluid.

I'm going to inspect the belts? Any other items I should look at?

Thanks,

It looks like you covered the basics and should be good for a while.I just tuned up my fathers 94 Accord w/ 18,000 miles because I didn't like the way it was idling-he still has the orig. fluids except for oil changes and the orig. belts and hoses which were still good.As long as she stays in a garage the stock stuff seems to last a long time.

Change the transmission and power steering fluid.
You may want to do the diff also.

Might want to swap the trans/dif fluids for good measure and put syn in the trans.

Check the belts, but they should be good. Plugs should be good to go also.

W/ your powersteering you can use the turkey baster method too... I do that.

Thanks for the responses. I forgot to mention, I did swap the tranny fluid with Royal Purple Syncomax and I'll have to double check but I think they changed the differential fluid when I had the seal replaced a couple of years ago. I didn't think about the power steering fluid though.

I would suggest visually checking the following.

brake flex lines (cracks)
exhaust mounts (tearing, cracking)
alternators voltage output (13.8 to 14.7),
tie rod ends (front and rear - for play and rubber covers),
suspension bushings (control arms/ball joints for play, cracking, tearing)
engine and trans mounts (for play, cracking, tearing)
brake pads and rotors (percentage of pad left, cracks and glazing on the rotors)
Shocks (for leaks)
wheel bearings.

If you have the equipment perform a battery load test (1/2 the CCA rating for 5 seconds - voltage should remain above 10.),

tire wear even?

road test with windows down - unfamilar moise while accelerating, braking, coasting?
shifting ok?
alignment? any pull to left or right?
panic stop (check behind you first) abs working?
A/C check. should get close to 40 degress duc temp or on a very hot humid day 20 to 25 degrees less then ambient temp.
