First I will start by defining "center". The little vertical dash on the upper part of the steering wheel should split the tach and speedo.
I recently took my C5 in for an alignment because it did not feel right and the wheel seem to center itself about a 1/4" in to the left about 90% of the time. The alignment was pretty far off and they spent about an hour getting it almost perfect (according to the before and after printouts). The car rides good now but the steering wheel still seems to come to rest about 1/4" to the left most of the time. If I center the wheel as I defined above I am definitely going to hit the curb within a few seconds.
I understand that most roads are going to have a slight slant from center to right to allow water to drain. So my question is it normal to have a constant center-left center-left type movement while driving these cars? Or does my definition of center not jive with reality?
Your steering wheel is not centered.... it does not mean the alignment is off. take it back to whoever did the alignment and have them center it for you.

The need to re-adjust the toe and they can get it right on the money. That's one of pet peeves too. My steering wheel has to be perfectly straight and level under normal driving.
Yup, that's what I thought. I brought it back to Tires Plus and they adjusted it in about 15 minutes. No charge of course. Now its perfect. Good guys up there.
