steering lock
I had my steering column back to the dealer in Hellertown, pa Chevrolet 21 3 times for this darn lock they did the recalls on it twice.After the second recall it acted worse and was locking everywhere though took it back and they said they could not help me. now I just got the car back and the dealer wanted $400 for a new steering column lock actuator since it does not slide over anymore thank god. Though I received in the mail from GM stating they would take care of any steering column lock problems up until 2008. My wife threw this letter out I was wondering if anyone else got this letter and if I could get a copy to show my stupid dealer where I will never buy another car from again. please any info even to get the annoying steering column check in the info center off permanently thanks

I had a problem this week with the colum lock after the recall was done.They told me that because they did the recall already that they were not responsible for the lock any more.I then told them about the second recall update as of feb.06 and sternly told them I would give them an hour to figure their **** out.We worked it out as a warranty issue on the initial recall.Hope this will work for you.JER
