Like a previous poster said, only if you knew he was a vette guy, then I think it would have been appropriate. But when people are mourning a dear loved one, a stranger displaying any joy-joy happy feelings about vette ownership would be considered weird or rude or both. Somebody died, to H@!! with the car is probably what they would think (if its a guy Im sure his widow would be thinking that).

A simple wave does not constitute disrespect, blowing the horn in this case would be a no-no. If he chose to return the wave, great, if not, then so-be-it.
