I was in a funeral procession today - first car behind the family in the limos - and a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l mid-year vert passed by in the other direction. I wasn't in my Vette, but if I was, would it have been appropriate to wave? I'm not being a wise-guy... would you have done it?
Then by all means, you should have waved back..... All you would have had to do was the "quick palm up" move and decorum would have prevailed.....
While you were waving, if you would have also revved up the engine..... Well now, then you would have been considered disrespectful and a complete social dolt.....
Unless of course, the deceased was a dearly departed Vette owner too, then it would have been considered proper and you should have waved again as they were lowering the casket......

I grew up Italian and I learned everything I needed to know about "life" at funerals and weddings..... There's rules, you know
I just don't understand how waving at someone while in a funeral line is breaking a rule or being disrespectful. Can anyone tell me what rule # it is or how this gesture violates any etiquette standard?
