Halltech Stinger Intake Question

Default Halltech Stinger Intake Question

will a halltech stinger from an 03 Z06 work on a 97 coupe?

i have a friend whos selling me his and i want to know if everything is compatible... like MAF sensor or whatnot.. im fairly new to the vette world, so take it easy on me..lol

I believe the MAFs were increased in size in 2001. The Stingers come in two sizes, smaller for 97-00, and larger for the 01-04s.

That's right, it's pretty easy to use the larger style on the smaller maf's but, not so much going the other way.

so if i put the stinger from a 03 Z06 on my 97 coupe, it will work fine? i wont get any errors or check engine light?

I'm not sure if Stang has done this successfully before; I have not. All I can tell you is that as long as there are not any air leaks, you won't get any lean codes or other messages. The 97-00 Stinger air bridges either have a hole or require one to be drilled in to accomodate a sensor that is in your OEM airbridge. If you DO use the newer version, you WILL have to drill the hole, yourself.

i dont wanna pass that one up

Cris, you'll have to verify this with Halltech, but since your MAF sensor is smaller than your friend"s, neither the airbridge nor the warhead filter will fit your MAF sensor.

You still should be able to make it fit, stangkiller has done this before i believe and everything worked fine.
