I keep gettin the "Low Fuel" on the DIC. but i filled up a full tank and still it reads low. Is this the sensor or the sending unit? any ideas?
i hear this is a common problem on the early Vettes. mine is a 98'.
how much to repair? how much time is usually involved?
To answer the rest of your question it took a few minutes and the dealer, Jon Hall Chevrolet in Daytona Beach didn't charge me. They were doing the column lock recall at the time. Great people to deal with. They have one technician dedicated to Corvettes.
anyone know what kinda additive i can put in to try and clear out anything gumming up the sensors? I heard this may also work? i do not want to buy a new sending unit, as it is 420 for Left tank and 390 for the right tank... thats nuts!!!

Buy the Large size(for up to 20 gals.) TECHRON (by Chevron) additive at your Auto Zone or comparable auto parts dealer & dump it in your nearly empty gas tank...one or two of these treatments should clean up those sensor deposits & return your gas sending unit to normal operation....it fixed mine. BTW, do this every other tank full & you should remain trouble free ....
I'm having the same problem. I did a search and read to put some Techron Fuel System Cleaner in. I got a bottle, but am waiting before getting lower on gas before I try it (as per the directions on the back).
