Hi, I had just purchased a Ti Exhasut from a member and just received it today and have a question: Inside each muffler there are what seems to be a bunch of rocks? You move the exhaust to one side and they just pour to the end. I happened to shake a couple out and they look like little pieces of black charcoal? Now is this normal? Also if I put them on my car will the exhaust just spit them out or any suggestions...
I dont think TI exhaust should have any rocks in them! They are supposedly the lightest exhaust out there. Why dont you weigh them and see if they weigh the same as the stock muffler should? There should be just a series of noise canceling baffles in there, that route the exhaust through the muffler. IT does sound like catalytic meltdown parts in there. I would shake out everything I could. Can you get a picture of whats coming out for us?
Do the pieces smell like burnt Porsche!
That's not normal. I put a set of used ti's on my vette a few months ago and they were rock solid, light weight and no noise when moved around. It does sound like the cats went bad on the car they were on and shot goal like pebbles into the ti's. Hopefully you can get them all out before the install, if you don't you WILL have some bad sounds, because the mufflers will have a hard time blowing them out if they got up in the coils or metal baffles.

yeah....they have little gremlins who put wrocks in the mufflers from the factory. if you get lucky their may be some gold and diamonds in there sorry but i had to. some of these questions i see on hear could be answered so easily with a little common sense
wow, sorry to hear that... The gremins must have taken off the day the used Ti's I bought were produced... I hope you get them cleaned out, the Ti system is awesome!
No rocks in mine either, but anyone have very discolored tips? (not to hijack the thread) The lower edges of my tips are black and I've tried scrubbing with various polishes to no avail.
