Default Amsoil? or What?

So which is the best Synthetic for my Z? Some advice on all fluids(clutch, Dif,etc). I want something to last longer than the junk that's in there now!

To me it came down to price. Mobil 1, Redline, Amsoil are all good fluids to use. It is just cheaper for me to run the Amsoil and is delivered to my front door. I have been using it for the past two years and have been impressed by the temp readings. Contact Brad aka Subdriver if you are interested in getting a membership.

Just a suggestion, but do a forum search. There are only about a 100 threads discussing this issue.

no doubt in my mind what oil to use,
The Chevrolet 350 produced since 1993 this includes
the lt-1, ls-1 ls-6. I have had 4 all total. They ALL used
Mobil-1.about 2000 miles per quart. Which is unacceptable.
Switching to Castrol syntec, stopped all oil useage in all 4 motors.
Drive them hard for 3k and still be full of oil. Also NO problems what so ever for about 300,000 miles. Total on 4 cars.

First mod for my Corvette is DRAIN the Mobil-1 and switch to syntac

IMO the best oil is the Castrol Syntec.
I do have Mobil-1 in the rear end.

In my 2004 Z06 I use the following,

Engine - AMSOIL 5W40 European Formula Full Synthetic
K&N - Oil Filter HP-1007
Transmission - 4 quarts Royal Purple Synchromax
Differential - 2 quarts Royal Purple Max-Gear

Thanks for the mention!

Lucky,
These AMSOIL products meet GM Standard 4718M for the C5 Z06:
AMSOIL Series 2000 0w30
AMSOIL SAE Synthetic 10w30
AMSOIL SAE Synthetic 5w30

Real world used oil analysis of a fellow forum members 99 FRC:
Corvette C5 AMSOIL Series 2000 0w30 Used Oil Analysis Report
(Note: the 6/24 and 5/06 tests were AMSOIL Series 2000 0w30, the 3/11 test was German Castrol 0w30)

Tranny fluid: AMSOIL ATF
Diff fluid: AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90

I've been using these tranny and diff fluids in my car, which sees almost exclusive track use, for several years now without any problems. I'd probably use the Series 2000 0w30 in my car if it was a daily driver, but for the track I have been using the AMSOIL SAE Synthetic High Performance 10w40 which doesn't meet the owner's manual requirements.

I wanna throw in my two cents too. I've been using all Amsoil products for many years in all my vehicles. To date; my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee has 225k and is still going strong, my 1982 Honda 750 motorcycle has 75k and still impresses me. An example of how much Amsoil reduces wear; I recently checked my motorcycle clutch for wear. The clutch plates are still within specs and don't need to be replaced!!!
