OK, so i was all set to install my 'road tested auto parts' purchased home-link using forum members instructions this past weekend. I was prepared with several sets of instructions for visor removal. I've seen these- https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=80&TopicID=1 (which instruct a counter-clockwise turn that I assume is wrong), http://www.vettemods.com/pdf/Visor%20instructions.pdf , and others which all show the same method. Bottom line is I can't get the bezel to budge. All I've succeeded in doing is enlarging the slot and scraping the visor arm and glass top by torquing the screwdriver out of the slot. BTW, I removed the top after almost destroying it. After this destructive effort, I decided to hang it up for the day. Does anyone have any other tricks for removing the visor? I briefly attempted the passenger side just to see if it would be any looser, but it wasn't. :
i followed the first set of instructions and had no problems with the removal. I used a flat headed screwdriver, applying a little upward force, and turned the visor. it unscrewed very easily. i did remove the top while doing this. i would be gentle. it should come out very easily. i wouldnt force it.
I had the same problem on my 99, ended up busting the bezel up. My theory is that the bezel can be installed wrong at the factory and once in it cannot be removed. The bad news is that you must buy a whole visor to get the stupin inner bezel. Sorry, I wish I had better news.

I just did this last week and it wasn't too much trouble. I wrapped the screwdriver shaft with blue painters tape to protect the metal portion of the visor arm, but it did take me two or three tries before I got it off.
The toughest part of the whole operation for me was shoving the wiring connector back in and out of the way so I could attach the new visor.
