I've been having the same problem that many of you have w/my oil pressure gauge. Pegged at 80 on the dash and 129 in the DIC. I changed it out today w/one bought from Advanced Auto Parts ($37.77). Put everything back together and took it for a spin. No codes, no funny smells, or unusual noises. Pressure now reading between 40 & 50 on the dash, same on the DIC. Hopefully this will fix it for a while; I don't want to have to do it again any time soon. I'm not a mechanic and this was the first time I wrenched under the hood, so I'm pretty stoked. If anybody has any questions about the procedure I'd be happy to answer them if I can. And thanks to vectorz (if you're out there) for the December 2004 guide to this process. It was most informative!
It is nice to see that when you got things back together it did it's job! Because if you went through all of that and it didn't, that would have sucked.
I travelled to Bloomington Gold and so far its has been an interesting trip.
I got clipped by some debris from road construction that punched a whole through the bra. Fortunatley the bra sacrificed itself and spared the front clip.
Then the oil pressure sensor pegged out.... will have to replace that when I return. Finally ( I hope) the rear sequential turn signal died...
so that's three.
I have heard (hope it's tru) bad luck comes in threes !
