Default Jet Chip Module-Stage 1 for C5

Has anyone installed the Jet Chip Module-Stage 1 in thier C5 or the Hypertech Programmer?
The advertisment says 25 RWHP gain and you can burn lower octane gasoline with better gas mileage.
How true are these statements??
Just curious
Thanks

you didn't say in your post (nor is it listed in your bio) what year C5 you own and what transmission it has.

I have a Predator and had good results with it. But like any handheld, you can outgrow it's usefulness if gettigng into heavy modding.

The Predator helps A4's a lot - less noticeable on a 6 speed.

I tried the Jet hand held programmer on my '04 Auto C5. I went with the programming that would be the equivalent to a stage 2 chip, but I did not see much of an improvement. I have an aftermarket exhaust and intake. For a couple of hundred more I think a professional Tune would go alot further! Good Luck

I had a Stage 1 clip in before I did my mods. I can't say that I felt any difference in performance. Would not do it over again.

OK OK,.you are not the first to start this line of discussion,.....and it always ends a "little" heated so for my .02 cents,..... with the mods you have, or more to the point,... do not have as a matter of fact, you will I believe, get more of the responce I think you are looking for by simply using 92 octane fule!!!!!!!!! now personaly I think, that unless you have gone as far as a cam or head or cam/head conversion a "hand held" will more than fit your needs and like the member said you might "out grow" it a latter date start from the start ALWAYS! plan ahead make sure your future mods a part of a well thought plan! Lower your temps *160 thurmostat (hand held will promt your computer) then Let her breath big intake big cats and big axcel back also the x-pipe might be good, then,...decide weather you want to continue (or more likely if you can stop!!) It gets compilcated but always best to plan for financal ruin

GMlefty,

I used a Predator for my 04 a4 before having it done up by LPE last year.

The Predator made a big difference. Their tune out of the box was very good, but I tweaked the air/fuel, timing, and shift pressures a little to optimize it. Each car is different, so the tuning tweaks are subjective. At around $400, it was well worth the price for a mostly stock vehicle.

If you don't plan on doing more serious mods, you will not be disappointed. Good luck.

Erik

Well,
I see mixed reviews, but i may look into a preditor. I think I may go with some exhaust improvments first. Do the corsa exhaust actually seem quieter inside the car than the Borla? I drive my vette for business and want to be able to talk on the cell phone. I was targeting the Corsa Tour edition exhaust. But did not know if there is much differerence between the Tour Edition and Pace care Edition or a similair Borla or Magnaflow.
Any thoughts??
