Well, I've decided to take the plunge and get the car painted. It is currently pewter and I will be changing the color to SOM or DSOM (WA-633H). I knew the car had some work done to it when I bought it, I just didn't think it had as much as it actually did. It turned out that the front fascia, complete driver's side, and rear fascia had been painted on. Judging from all of the overspray I found, it was a pretty quick and sloppy job. Knowing that I would never be happy with that, I decided have it painted and get sunset orange metallic (which I've liked since it was on the F-bodies) Going to set it off with black accents. (light covers, letters, etc) Here are some pics of the first wave of disassembly.
That's great. I can not wait to see the finished paint. I almost painted my FRC SOM but decided at the last minute to do a two tone. It will be done in the next couple weeks. Awesome color and keep us posted!
thanks for the encouragement guys. I will definitely post progress pics. I took my painter the first batch of parts yesterday, and will follow with all the fenders thursday. He is going to clearcoat, wet-sand, buff, then clearcoat again for a very deep effect.
