Power Antenna Down When Playing CDs
Has anyone found a non-evasive solution? I didn't look in my manual yet, but I wonder if there is a means of programming the head unit. The Driver Information Center covers various preferences. Maybe the sound system does too.
Assuming the antenna is for FM alone, I'd like the antenna to go up only when I listen to FM signals, not AM or CDs.

this is the way I did it. You have to pull back the carpet in the right rear of trunk (vert in my case) it is velcroed. You will see the pink wire. Even if you are not ready to do the switch yet, you can cut & insulate the pink wire and the antenna will stay down. The switch I got from Radio Shack fits loosely in the hole for the auxiliary power receptacle. You have to pry up the traction control panel forward of the console glove box to disconnect & insulate the power leads. I trimmed down the bracket that comes with the switch, making it into a washer & slipped in the back. Fit in a length of 16-2 wire & hook up between switch & the pink wire using high quality crimp splices/crimp connectors (a little tight to solder in the trunk). It is easiest to slip the fabricated washer over the new wire leads & hook up wires to switch before pushing the washer home. Good luck.DBD
But I was hoping for an "Automated" solution. I'd like the antenna to go up automatically when switching to FM listening. I didn't want to reach a switch elsewhere.

That's why I've left mine alone. But then again, I find myself so seldom listening to the radio anymore, that it wouldn't be that much of an inconvenience to flip a switch. But I wouldn't want it in the center console. That would be too inconvenient to reach while on the move.
