I've had both the C6 and the C6Z06 shifters in my C5. They are both great and smooth shifting esp compared to stock C5 shifter. C6 Z06 shifter has slightly shorter throw (1 in. shorter 1-2 throw measured at the top of the shifter), but is slightly notchier than the C6 shifter. It is also slightly cheaper if you buy new. I had the C6 shifter in for several months and really liked it, but got the C6Z06 just to try. I kept the C6Z06 in because there wasn't much difference & I didn't want to swap out again. I sold C6 shifter to fellow forum member, who reports he's happy with it. I kept the **** as it is the same for both C6 shifters. Either way you'll get a good shifter & the **** won't rotate. Keep an eye on both C5 & C6 Parts on the forum.
