im in the process of buying a system, and just curious how much louder than stock it is? i cant stand how quiet it is now, (my previous car was a z28 with longtubes that i ran open cutouts on all the time lol) i dont want THAT sound...i dont want my stock vette to sound like that but i do want to be able to hear it better
They are pretty loud. Its not too bad on the interstate unless you are in the drone range, which is around 55-65mph for me (A4 3.15). When accelerating reasonably hard, you can forget hearing your passsenger/radio/cell phone conversation. They sound great, but I recommend getting a Xpipe along with it.
They are perfect - not obnoxiously loud or so quiet that you mistaken them for stock. Just think of what the sound of a 60's small block with dual exhaust and Dynomax SuperTurbo mufflers is like and you'll get the "picture".
gooood, thanks for all the input , the X pipe bolt up to the stock system and require no fab? (could i do it myself without welding anything?) and whats it do, get rid of the poping on decel?
It doesn't get rid of the decel popping at all. Of course when I put on the X-pipe it was with headers/no cats, so....Stingers with the stock exhaust are great, but are really loud with headers/O/R X pipe. Nice tone for the most part, but a honking noise when given alot of throttle at low RPMS.
I was at Andy's great event last weekend and I watched his mechanics install a new set of Borla quads with an X-pipe. I watched them cut the old X-pipe off with a saw, and then the new X-pipe attached right behind the cats with clamps. If you don't have a lift, getting the old exhaust system out will be very difficult. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new sound.
go to www.ls1sounds.com and they have some sound clips. It will give you a similiar idea of what you want. My Borlas I LOVE THEM!! Awesome sound, you wont be dissapointed, Good Luck!

With a 6 speed the drone occurs at 65-80 mph. If you don't do to much hwy driving you'll love them. After an hour on the hwy though you'll want to rip them off.
lol sounds like im gonna get what i wanted, i bought a borla muffler for my lt1 camaro and it wasnt loud at all, was disapointed so i got a electric cutout lol
