Corvette Magic (Warning: Wave Thread)
To get to the point, everytime there is a wave thread, you get "Those Who Are Complaining" about the wave threads. I understand because there are a lot of them and some of them are rather childish and petulant. However, to gripe and moan about the thread instead of just not posting, is to try and do your own part to kill (to quote another member) or quiet the Wave. It makes newer members think that it's stupid and uncool to wave, when actually it is a rich part of our American heritage, dating back to the time of the Golden Age of America (post WWII), and IMO, is something not just for vette to vette owners, but something for guys and girls who dream of owning one, or children who ohhhh and ahhhh at the sight of one. I feel it is our duty somewhat to wave at these people and show them how grand and fun it is to not trundle around in a souless econobox, but to embrace the road with a piece of legend, the Chevrolet Corvette.
Whether you are a C1-C2-C3 owner, showing your car and talking chrome resto parts, a C4 driver going to the park in the afternoon with the wife, the C5 owner trying to see how many g's you can safely pull on the curve, or a C6 owner trying to keep her under speed so your roof doesn't delaminate (
sorry, I had to), or a C6 owner just learning the vettiquette, we are all Corvette owners, and IMO, we should be more civil and friendly, this isn't the MustangForum (of which I'm a member, they have plenty of good folks but....we are the CorvetteForum, with a high reputuation to uphold, and if you don't care about that....well it's a shame but your God-given right as an American), so let's be a little nicer and if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it.
How cool is that? Of course I don't wave to her when I'm driving the truck.
I agree that anyone who's fed up with reading 'wave' threads should simply not read the wave threads.
More importantly, why does it matter so much if a stranger waves back at you?
I wave at ALL Vettes - but I could care less if they wave back or not. I just don't get the arrogance of "He/She did not wave back".
I mean really - who cares?

), and so on.My point is let's just stop all the negative comments in the wave threads. Yeah if someone needs a reality check then give it to em, but don't come in complaining just because it's another thread on the wave, it's disheartening.
If you aren't waved at, let's not make a thread about it unless there is an interesting twist, like the non-waver shot you a bird instead, or yelled "no chrome" like the thread I read the other day. Or when a really great thing comes from the wave, like a new friend.

Can't they be confined to 1 thread at a time?

There is Grond god damnit, there is Grond!!!!!

I am tired of seeing a buncha freakin sourpusses bitchin about the wave. I could give a damn if I got a wave or not but I think it's a beautiful tradition.
cbx1047cc- I am not trying to tell, I'm suggesting some things we could do. It's the negative attitude that I frequently see on the imports sites (all the bashing, flaming, etc>) that I am now having to see on the Corvette Forum breaks my heart. It's like a nice civilized party and then someone's biker cousin comes in and starts shotgunnin beer and throwin food at everyone. Let's be more civil. Plus, it feels good to be amiable (to me it does anyway)

Oh, and don't tell me how to tell or not to tell people when to wave. It's a forum.
