Flush mount tail light question

It was either on this site or "the other forum" that someone used longer sheet metal screws with nylon barrel spacers to accomplish the same results...cost was less than $3.00 in materials. I think it looks nice, but I decided to just seal my Z16 lights and leave them in the oem position.

Had mine on for about 8 months then took them off and sold them. I didnt like the look. All Vettes have that resest look. These do go flush and it did keep them cleaner.
Dont spend the $40.00 go to Home Depot or Lowes and get the spaces and screws there. Prob be all but $5.00, I could only find silver screws however. 3" is what you will need.
