Default EBCM Question

I found a broken ground wire and fixed it. But the Code still won't clear. Do I have to wait for it to clear after 50 start up's or GM tech clearing the code ?

OR did the broken ground wire ruin my EBCM ?

I would think that if the code is not clearing then something is still wrong. You may want to try to disconnect the battery, let it sit for a bit and then reconnect it to see if that fixes anything. I have a feeling that there is something wrong with your EBCM.

I will say that I replaced my EBCM 2 weeks ago and the process itself is pretty simple, I would definitely order the part from one of the discount GM dealers like Fred Beans to save some cash. Those are expensive little boogers!

Ditto. The system runs a test with the key on and if it doesn't pass, the light stays on. If you fix the wire and that was the only problem, it would have gone off.
