Car is BROKEN!!!! :(
While driving into work today.....almost made it all the way in.....and then a SERIOUS vibration starts. I'm wondering what the hell it is......feel it in my shifter first.....I'm thinking maybe my clutch grenaded.....but no, it still seems to be working. Now the vibration is getting worse.....and a loud knocking,,,,,and my gauges are freaking out.....volts going down fast....temp going up fast.....Service Engine Soon on the DIC.......not looking good. Start pulling over.....no power steering.....everything that can go wrong ig going wrong. I'm thinking the worst......engine must be totally blown!
Get pulled over and open the hood.....no oil smoke at least....everything seems normal.....but then I see the belt is off. And then I see the ribbed portion of the harmonic balancer has come off!
I called Sean at OCC.....he says this isn't all that uncommon and he can fix it with a new balancer and 90% of the time there's no other issues......man.....I hope he's right!

Wow, bad way to start the day. I hope the diagnosis is right on; I like the odds! Best of luck getting your beast on the road again!

Good luck with the fix! Were you aware of a wobbling pulley issue before this happened?

May as well go with an underdrive pulley.
Every time I replace a part, I usually upgrade.

Hey Steve, be sure to let us know how you made out. I check my pulley periodically for looseness.....so far so good.
