Fixed fuse problem
Well, for the third time, I had a fuse blow. Normally blowing a fuse is an annoyance, but not a big problem. Unfortunately, this fuse controlled the break lights, blinkers, active handling, traction control, cruise control, ABS, and hazard lights. One blown fuse really means nothing. The second time I replaced it, I thought something must be wrong. The third time, I just took it straight to the dealer and let them figure it out. It's still under warranty. The next day they called to tell me that they had discovered the problem. About six months ago I had a trailer hitch installed on the car. The shop that installed it failed to properly secure the wiring, and it ended up resting on top of the exhaust system. Once it got hot enough, BOOM goes the fuse. The didn't charge for the repair although technically it was not part of any warrantyable system.
Similar thing happened to a buddy of mine (on his truck). Everytime he hit the brake he blew the fuse. Finally found that some insulation on the wiring to hitch had rubbed through and was causing a short.
