$400 relay
Posted several threads regarding a battery drain and headlights popping up. Well, finally found out what it was all about. Mechanic found 8 AMP draw on the battery and isolated it to a "body control module staying energized. Checked circuit and found relay sticking, replaced relay...constant 19 MA (mili amp?) draw. OK". Relay controlled headlights among other things. Why the headlights would pop up when the battery drained is still a mystery. Relay was $18.00. Labor $270.00. Previous visit $180 for new Orbotal battery (the Optima red top, 27 months was shot) plus diagnosis $65. Oops...that's over $500 f!!!!!!ing.

Just experienced a similar thing. GM wanted $300 to troubleshoot my electrical problem. Tinkered for two weeks and found a relay sticking causing my drain. The good new is that I found it and saved the money. Electrical gremlins are notoriously difficult to isolate and fix, hence the labor charge...
