The "grain" of the polorization in the HUD lens is there to maximize the anti-glare properties. If you change the lens you will have defeated this and have to deal with ALL the glare from refections and the road.
My suggestion is just to purchase non-polorized glasses.........that's what we all have done.
Thanks for all the responses. I did a little bit of research as to why the sunglasses are polarized the way they are and it is because most of the reflected light that causes glare is horizontally polarized. The HUD is vertically polarized.

Just drive with your head tilted 90 degrees then, and you'll be OK.
