Thanks guys. I looked at another today it's a 2000 Vette Black 6 speed with 81,000 miles. Car fax came up clean no accidents no problems. Vette has a couple scratches here and there but nothing major. Drives and shifts nice. Asking price is $22,900.00. Im probably going to trade in my 1997 Camaro SS (6 speed). Its funny the SS feels faster but if you look at the MPH the Vette seems to get up much faster. Anyway, anything I should look for on this Vette? They gave me the Vette overnight so I will really go over it in the morning.
Your getting warmer but the price on this one is a little high. My 00 was only $1,600 more with just under 30K miles, that was in November though. It seems prices are a little better heading into winter. I had my heart set on a black C5 with decent mileage and it took months to find. Once I found it though, I can't begin to describe how happy I am with this car 81K miles is awfully close to 100K and once it crosses 100K its really going to look old to another buyer or Stealership for a trade. My under 30K is already up to 44 just from last November Oh well, I didn't buy it just to look at it.
Sorry I had a double post because I thought everyone was getting confused with the first Vette I looked. Anyway, I got the Vette back from my mechanic/body shop today. Vette came back with a very high rating from the shop. They said it was in great condition except for a few scuffs and scratches on the bumpers. The only thing mechanically wrong is a small power steering leak. I went back to the dealer and showed them the report. After an hour of talking..this is the deal they offered: 3 year powertrain warranty, repair the power steering leak and repaint the front and rear bumpers. The price went from $22,900.00 to $17,900.00 minus $7,000.00 for my trade total cost $10,900.00. Bumpers look good to me back his a scuff about the size of a softball right side towards the bottom really not noticable and the front just has some stone chips.
