3 years and 2 days ago, I came home from an overseas deployment. I had one day to catch up on some sleep, then the 4th of July was here. What a great day it was.

Just met a family from our neighborhood at a 4th celebration. It was announced he was a Commander and that he was being deployed to Afganistan tomorrow. His wife and kids we knew, but not much about him. Well, that's all I needed to know. Wished him good luck and the neighborhood would watch over his wife and 3 young boys. Damn, parts of being in the armed forces DO suck......
