Tich, tich, tich, maybe you should take a timeout and then you can come back and try to play nice...........my post was meant as a joke and now I have to tolerate being called names by, well I just don't know what you are?
No stupid, your post was out of place and ill-humored. You go sit in time-out.
Somehow I just dont think he was looking for your type of reply.
IMO it would depend on what color you are trying to touch up as to whether the touchup would look good versus getting the panel resprayed. Some colors blend better than others.
I hear stories all the time like this! It's just a car. ALbeit, a great cal, but it can be replaced and repaired. I know people can be cruel! No matter how hard it is, just turn your cheek and take the high road!

I have the same color....
DO NOT use the touch up pen (GM - Medium Spiral Gray Metallic)... it's way too dark.
I got a 5oz. spray can of Medium Gray Metallic from Auto Zone, sprayed some in a paper cup and applied it with a fine tip brush. You can't even see the difference.
Just make sure you mix it a little every time you dip the brush... the colors tend to separate a little.

I understand your pain. I got a big old mark on my driver's door within a month of buying my 03 coupe. it was down to the primer. My car is MY, and I stupidly thought it would be easy to touch up. Bought some paint from GM which was supposedly from the same lot. But I kept using it and it looked more brown than the rest of my car. Kept thinking it was still too thin, so I applied even more coats, but it still looks brownish yellow. So I took it to a body shop, and they said the yellow was hard to match and that they would have to repaint not only the door, but also a couple of other parts that surrounded the door. I said forget it, it's just a driver - but that brownish spot really jumps out at me. DAMN. I'd like to kill the person that did this!

Unfortunately there are people out there that just don't care about damaging other people's property. You just happened to run into one of them. Hope you can get it fixed soon.
