That does look nice.

It looks like there is plenty of room on the plate for some custom engraving as well.

I wonder if the guy makes a similar plate for the A4 tranny equipped cars?

I would think a thick peice of black plastic drilled to fit snugly around the shifter, that moved with the shifter would look good behind the plate to block the view of the rubber boot.

Maybe a flat piece of armaflex insulation from Lowes or Home Depot (depending on which NASCAR driver you support) would do the trick too. It is spongy, could be slipped over the shifter, and is a great insulator for noise and heat. One side is a matte black finish which sould not take away from the brushed aluminum look of the plate.

They're called "button head fastener" and you can get them in stainless at your local hardware store. That will definitely be the finishing touch. Nice work.

Thanks for the info!

And thanks for the compliments guys! If the machinist is reading this, I'm sure he's quite flattered.

Great ideas!

I'm sure he could make one for an A4, if an A4 owner in his area could meet up with him, so he could create a template. He lives somewhere in CA. I realize that's a big state, but if any CA A4 owners are interested, LMK & I'll throw you his email.

The machinist did nice work, obviously a lot of thought went into it...but, IMO it looks out of place unless it's on a Ferrari.

Unfortunately, it's not made by a forum vendor, so if anyone wants the 411, just drop me a line.
How's it going. Just curious where you picked this up. I need one.
Apprexiate it,
Doug
