I installed a set of Speed Bleeder I got from Eckler’s about a month ago. They went on easy and really had no issues until yesterday I noticed brake fluid on front passenger side wheel. I took the wheel off and straight away noticed the little black cap that goes on the bleeder was missing. I check to see if perhaps the brake line was leaking and quickly noticed that the fluid is overflowing from the bleeder screw area, I figured it was loose but it was nice and tight.
I can see the caliper has fresh brake fluid on it.. and it’s especially wet by the bleeder screw so clean thoroughly the excessive fluid and return1/2 hour or so later to see it’s overflowing every so slowly. I re-install the original one and it’s been dry for sever hours now. I checked all 3 remaining wheel and found no issues.
Has anyone experience this problem withSpeed Bleeders? I am a bit pissed because the spilled fluid remove what I think is the clear-coat on the rim it looks like melted plastic. Any ideas how I can fix the rim?
Not alot that you can do to service the bleeder. Did you check to make sure that they sent you the correct length bleeder. I know you said that the other three are working fine. I think I would contact vendor for a replacement.

I'm thinking maybe some debris in the ball-check valve. Of course it's possible the ball itself may be defective (out of round or damaged ball) or even a broken spring inside.
Until you get a replacement you can remove it (plug the hole to stop brake fluid leaking) and use compressed air to blow through the valve. You might also insert a small thin tool (wire, ice pick?) into the hole and see if the internal spring seems to have enough tension to keep the ball seated. Re-install and step on the brakes to put fluid pressure on it and check for leaks. Let us know what you find.
