Default Help, HeadLamp Assembly Alignment

Anyone have a procedure (pics) on aligning the entire assembly, (From the frame) not just the top cap piece.
My headlight covers do not sit flush with rest of body and have been adjusted as far as they can yet still out. One is ok, the other is still out maybe 3/16" and makes me nuts.

Thanks in advance! Hope you having a great weekend!

I fitted Euro headlights so I've had mine on and off a few times.

The cap just fixes with the 4 torx screws into the frame. If the lights are not in properly it may unsaat the cover.

I noticed that the fit varies depending on whether you fix the rear torx screws first or the side screws first. May be worth playing with that?

I don't think the shop manual has a set procedure for aligning the headlights, starting at the frame -

There are 3 bolts that hold the headlight bracket to the frame, and there is some room for adjustment on those - but the headlight bracket also attaches to the inner wheelhouse - again, some ajustment

You could shim the headlight bracket at the frame if needed (use washers) - but basically, I think you are going to have to do this by trial and error - take your time on a saturday afternoon and let us know what happens.

Thanks, as always, prior to diving in, looking for "the right way" to do it.

The previous owner bumped ( crashed, ripped off, destroyed, something like that ) the front end and/or fendor and after repair the shop did not get setup perfect , did a dang good job on paint And yes, this is probably an all day Saturday afternoon project.

I'll take some pics and see if I come up with any better way to set up and make it easier for the next guy.

There are four #10 Torx screws that allow you to align the panel vertically. There are two in the back and one on each side (you have to remove the headlight bezel to cat at the two on the sides.

If you remove the panel completely there is a frame that the panel sits on that is also held in place with four #10 Torx screws. This panel will allow you to adjust the panel horizontally. There is no easy way to do it - it's time consuming trial and fit and error.

I can't tell you how much time I spent with this fooling with it, but mine is good now. I did not attempt to adjust the headlight bucket, I felt that it had no shims originally so it didn't need it.
