I recently bought a vert on EBAY. When I went to pick it up the condition was less than expected, but it was only 24K for a 2000 Vert with a red interior and 56k miles. Figuring the I had gotten an okay deal, I drove it home. It's my wife's daily driver. I painted the hoodliner on my last C5 and it came out spectacular. I wanted to paint this one too, but it looked like someone had hit with a pressure washer in spots which made it really fuzzy in spots. So, I took some driveway sealer and a paint brush and put a coat of driveway sealer on it to get the fuzz to lay down well enough so that when I put on a killer paint job it'll look good.
I might pu another coat on it before I do my layout work.
I thought someone might benefit from this post in terms of a solution to get that ugly fuzz to lay down.

If it's too bad just buy another one, I believe they are around $100.
The point of the hoodliner is to function like a fire blanket for an underhood fire. The plastic plugs that hold the liner onto the hood melt from a fire, and the liner drops down with the intent of smothering the fire - in theory.....
Really? That does make sense actually but I never knew that. I always thought it was for heat and noise but had no reason to think that other than a guess.
