I would start by going over everything the dealer did to make sure it was done right. ie: make sure the MAF is on the correct way, all clamps are on and tight, Maf is plugged in ect. If all that is correct I would go check out the tune. my .02$

Also go into the dic and see if it is throwing any codes, hold " options and press fuel 4 times"

I disconnected my battery today for 5 hours and when I hooked it back up my stations are still set and my seat still goes to my "saved" position or whatever. What is the secret to getting the computer to lose all of its info so it can reset for the vararam?

Thanks for the help again everybody!

I think the stations stay. It's the clock that should be off. I just did this to mine last night, and the clock is the only thing you have to update.

Have you looked over the connections on the MAF to the throttle body?

When I installed mine it was doign all sorts of crap. ran ****ty, ran good. idle was pacing, then went low, then went back to normal. I had the battery disconnected for 6 hours as well.

I went over all the tubes again, because that thing installs a little funny when you first drop it in. this seemed to take care of the crappy idle, even though it looked all good when I first bolted it together.

Later I battled with the lean codes. they finally went away, and now, I have not had a single issue with it.

I drove the car home after picking it up about 200 miles and the whole rear area of the car has black **** speckled all over it - didn't notice this on initial prebuy drive - assuming it only happens at open throttle inside of exhaust very BLACK ... obviously running RICH any suggestions as to WHY ??? and what can I do about this ...

I'm not the greatest when it comes to stuff like this so any help will be greatly appreciated ...THX

I have a 04 Z06 with VaraRam, and I'm sorry but I don't think your "rich, with speckled **** over the rear" condition has anything to do with the VaraRam. Don't know what causes it, but it's not the intake.

Find a dyno shop to dyno-tune your car and get the air fuel ratio back to 13.1:1 where it belongs. Mine is tuned using EFILive, the new version. LS1edit and HP Tuners are others that I would recommend to make sure the shop is using first. These all are capable of correctly tuning your car, and the air fuel ratio will be shown on a dyno sheet to let the tuner know where you are if he has to remove some fuel. This results in a good jump in horsepower and you will feel the difference.

Well easier said than done I'm afraid. I am living in VT 20 minutes North of Burlington.

I noticed your from Middleboro, MA - I just moved up here from Bridgewater, MA about a year and a half ago. Retired from an LEO job (after 25 years) didn't need to be in Crowdachusetts anymore so off we went...

Needless to say I wouldn't know where to bring the car up here - I will scout around but pretty sure I won't find that kind of service around here.

Can a dealer corvette tech do what you say needs to be done???

I would find a member in your area here. Guys come down from New Hampshire to go to DEZ Racing in Seekonk Ma. to go to my tuner. If someone has a good reputation like Slowhawk does, people will drive 2 hrs. away, not uncommon at all.

Just to update everyone on the situation with my vararam.......
you do not lose the stations when the battery is disconnected. The computer did reset itself, however, after a short time driving I still had the problem with the bucking or missing or whatever you want to call it. I talked to a tech at vararam and the problem is (or so we think) the 1b system is not made for the green filter. The top part of the 1B kit is to small for the green filter and air is leaking out. Even though I bought the vararam off of ebay, Steve from vararam is sending me the part from a 2B system so my vararam will work correctly with my new green filter. The best part is he didnt want any money he said he would send it to me free of charge. That is amazing customer service. I will let ya all know if this does correct the problem. Thank you all again for your input and help, it is really appreciated!

You all have to be tired of me posting! I got the B2 piece on and it was a much better fit and covered the entire filter. However, I have put about 120 miles on it since and still have a bucking or missing almost around 1600 rpm still...it is much less noticeable and much less frequent....but still there.

When I am driving I can hear a whistling noise coming from under the hood, is this normal for this system or is it a telltale sign of a air leak still?? Also, when I got home tonight my check engine light kicked on. Any ideas???? I am so frustrated I am about to take it off and give the daggone thing away!!

Again, thanks in advance for any help!!!
