In my quest for my first C5, I came across this great deal in the AutoTrader. It's listed as a 2002 hatchback with 33k miles for $24k. Sounds great, until you look at the pictures. It's a FRC!!! I was under the impression that all FRCs after 2000 were Z06s. The vin number contains the code "1YY22" which should be a coupe, right? The pics on the dealer's website clearly show a FRC. Am I missing something here? Did Chevy actually make some non-Z06 FRCs in 2002?
Can someone please run a Carfax on this for me?
Thanks.
While looking for a car I ran across a car with several misrepresentations. I don't think the guy was being dishonest, he just thought he had more car than he really did. Using vin number and the web I was able to seperate fact from fiction.
Make sure you "decode" the vin and option codes if you want to be sure what you're really looking at. There is lots of info out there.

It was a lease vehicle starting on 2/28. Wisconsin
6/25/04 - Registered with 3,123 miles
5/02/05 - Title updated with 4,328 miles
We've got a case of wrong picture. I ran the VIN number through GM VIS. The VIN number listed on the website is actually a 2002 Mag Red Coupe with Light Gray interior. PM me for more info.
Isn't it still a good deal? Miles are low and the price is decent. FRC'c are great!
For a '99 it's not that good of a deal based on what I've been seeing the past several weeks, even with the low miles. I'd still have to have it shipped all the way to California or drive it back. Plus, I'm really looking for a 2001 or newer. I think I'll pass on this one.
