Default need info on cd changer

I keep hearing that even if you don't have a changer, the cable may be there. Where is it?

Got an ipod-2-car adapter and I can't figure out where the cable on the back of the radio goes.

there are two sections of cable for the CD changer.

One section (comprised of two seperate cables) goes from the radio to the passenger footwell. The second cable (both are combined in this one) runs from the passenger footwell to the rear cargo cubby.

The second cable is never installed on a C5 that wasn't ordered with the factory CD changer.

Great Mike. Now help me a little more (I'd rather rebuild an engine than screw around with wiring). I don't have the factory changer so I've only got the first section. WHERE in the passenger footwell?

Second question is what does it do? Do you know if I can connect this "Ipod-to-car" adapter (PXHGM2) at that point or do I need something else?

do a search in the audio section on ipod 2 car, you should get your answers there.

I have no experience with "IPod in C5" installation. But I've seen plenty of posts about it in the Audioo Section.

I recently put my CD changer from my 98 into the 01. Some model are wired from the radio to the passenger footwell. Like Mike said there are two wires. One is cliped on just to the right of the fuse box the other is under the carpet taped onto anther wire.

Sorry this is a little out of focus, but it will give you an idea what to look for.

Good luck with your install.

Thanks but it turns out, I don't have the right adapter. The cables could bite me in the a$$ and it wouldn't do me a bit of good right now.

Yep. Pretty much the way I felt about it.

Had the whole interior pulled out of the car. Half because of what I wanted to do and the other half looking for that damn second wire (before you told me it wasn't there).

So the beast sits in the garage now, waiting for the nice UPS man to bring me $12 worth of cables.

Barf!
