Default Torque Wrench

What size torque wrench and lug nut socket size do I need for the Vette wheels/lugs? Looking to buy Craftsman on-line.
Thanks.

You can get either a 1/2 or 3/4 inch drive torque wrench. I'd get whichever size you have more sockets in. The lugnuts are 19mm sockets.

I think the lug nuts are at 100ftlbs and you would like that number to be somewhat in the middle of the wrenches range. I'd say a 150ftlb wrench would work. That's why I have several wrenches ranging from inlbs to 250ftlbs.

Get the 1/2" torque wrench. Then you can use it with a reversible adapter that craftsman sells and use either 1/2" or 3/8" sockets on it.

1/2" is what you want for lug nuts. Harbor Freight Tools has one on sale for $12.99 (10-150 ft/lbs)

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...Itemnumber=239

They also have a better quality one that goes 25-250ft/lbs for $100

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=46691

The cheap one is all you need for lug nuts. But if you plan on doing any engine work, I'd opt for the better one - More accurate and more durable.

I bought the "El Cheapo" from Harbor Freight to use as a spare. I tested it against a more expensive calibrated torque wrench I have. RIGHT ON THE MONEY!!
