I got a set of Ti exhausts from a Z06 for my C5 Coupe and had the formers exchanged by the local GM dealer. Now one side is noticable higher than the other. After I complained about this, the mechanic put some washers underneath the bolted rubber block that holds the silencer to bring the latter down. There is some improvement, but the exhaust tips are still on different hights.
I noticed that there is a metal band (made from stainless steel?) wrapped around the silencer which sticks into the opening of the rubber block. I would think that one has to bend this metal band to adjust the hight of the tipps. My mechanic (and I) are a little nervous bending parts of the exhausts because the latter is essentially (if not completely) made from titanium and if something breaks, the dealership would not be able to weld it.
Can somebody comment on how to adjust the Z06 Ti exhaust and whether or not the metal band that holds the muffler is made from titanium as well or rather from stainless steel (which could be welded)?
I just go through putting headers on my Vette and re-hooked them back to the Ti's and I had the same problem. I ended up jacking the car back up and using some brute force adjusted the pipes from the cross pipes back to where they bolt to the flanges for the catback. They straightened up nice.

When I put my Borlas on I adjusted them by loosening everything and basically twisting. Locate the tip where you want it by pushing up on the tip side of the muffler and pulling down on the opposite side of the muffler. Hard to explain but very easy to do. Just loosen and start twisting and I think you'll see what I mean. Good Luck!
Loosen the two-bolt-flange bolts in front of the axle and rotate the tips to the correct position. Brace the tips while you tighten the flange. A 1/16" adjustment at the flange can move the tips about an inch.
