Sorry to read about your misshap! When I did something similar (okay, much worse), and after my ego healed for pulling such a stupid mistake, I told myself that $$hit happens!

After your bruised ego heals and you get your ride back, you will be a much better driver... You now know where the fender starts and your garage begins! Sounds like it should not have got into your headlight so repairs should be reasonable.

Hang in there.

my son did this to his elcamino first thing after getting the body work done and ready for painting. backing out of the garage he smashed the entire driver fender in by turning to early. the only thing that stopped him was the house foundation hung up on the bumper. i was speachless while watching this happen. it was like slow motion and tried to smack the hood but he allready was into the door frame. after all his and my work put into that thing and to do this on the way to the paint shop. took weeks before he would even look at it.

but.... we fixed it after a few wks and its now just a funny storie to talk about!!!!

Sorry to hear about that. I cringe every time I get another stone chip or scratch in my toy.

If you choose to repaint the bumper, you could always get in on the Tigershark GP.

Aw man, that's ugly. But don't beat yourself up about it. I felt the same way when I didn't pull into the garage far enough and the closing garage door scraped my paint in the back. It's one of those moments, for certain. Just pulled out the wallet and like magic, the scratch completely vanished.

I have a friend who spent a couple of years restoring an old sports car and had to do a lot of work on the front end to put things right. Well, he made the mistake of turning the key while the car was in 1st and smashed up the front end when the car lurched into his tool chest.

Sorry it happened, but things like this do occur from time to time. Don't let it get you down. As for the bumper, a good shop should be able to repair it to where is looks just fine.

Sorry to hear but don't you have insurance?

It's an accident. Why get a used fender and bumper?

The most cost of the job is labor and paint.
