Hi guys, I've got a lil unusual thing here. Car sitting for 6 months, not started. Battery down. Charged it 4 days ago, went for a drive. Didnt start it again until this evening (aft 4 days). Didn't start. Recharged for 15 minutes, car started by the 12 CD changer kept shuffling the CD, and kept getting turning ON and OFF. After the car was running, I tried to play a CD, wouldn't work. I opened the CD case in the rear and got the magazine out. Reloaded magazine. Turned Off the car, restarted. CD player wouldn't work. Went back to get the magazine out. This time the magazine won't come out. Seems the CD changer didn't have any power, no Red light in there.. What's going on? Did it get shot, or is there an electrical or fuse problem..? Plz help. I'm so sick of these little, but stupid problems..
Don't quote me on this (hopefully someone else can chime in with some info), but seems I heard or read somewhere where if a battery does'nt have a certain charge on it, peripherial eqp will not power up or power to them may fluctuate (as in the electrical sys shuts down power going to those devices thus conserving what energy the battery has in it for starting only). Since your battery did'nt hold the 4day charge you gave it and drained a couple days after you had driven it, it sure sounds like a battery issue. Do you have another vehicle you can pull a battery out of and try out on your car to test? Sorry for your troubles. Good luck.

Not heard that one before but random electrical gremlins can mean a bad battery. I see you have a 99 Coupe. If you have an original AC Delco it would be worth changing it on spec in any case. The older ones are prone to leaking once they start to die and the computers are under the battery tray. It would be a good place to start.

I hear ya. But the car was running in idle. Even then the CD changer in the rear wouldn't work, or power up. I had just used it 4 days ago, worked fine then... Is there a place I can check for a FUSE specifically for CD Changer ? Keep your comments coming guys, I'd appreciate your views.......

Automobiles of today are unlike those of yesteryear. Battery problems seem to display a wide variety of odd symptoms in today's automobiles. Since it apparently will no longer hold a charge it sounds like a dead cell in the battery and it now most likely needs to be replaced.
Do you think that the problems with your CD changer might be a separate issue in itself, it's quite possible?
If i were you, I'd opt for a new battery, it'll most likely cure your problems.
