I'm going to do my garage floor with the Rustoleum Epoxy floor kit, but it says to keep your car off for seven days. I was going to do one side first then the other but that sounds like double trouble. I don't want to leave my cars outside for a week. Has any one used this product and put their car on it in less than a week?
Thanks

have used the product 2 years ago and followed the instructions and did not use the garage for 10 days. Have had no problems. A friend of mine did not follow and parked the vehicles after only a few days. Guess what happened the paint pealed under the tires and had to be redone. Good luck. I recommend follow the instructions and you should be fine. Patience will pay off.

My guess is that if its epoxy based that will be a curing time. It wont be full strength until its cured. I'd say the wait would be worth it.
I just had mine redone and talked to 3 different professionals on this subject. I'm told you can drive on it after 5 days but 7 is recommended for those who are the small percentage that need a full 7 days. Due to it being hot summer time, I doubt you'll need a full 7.
If your going to go through all that trouble it's worth it to wait out at least 5 days. In regards to doing one side then the other I wouldnt recommend it b/ your going to be able to see a seem where the two meet. Just my 2 cents
Take your time preping the floor surface and wait the recommended time before parking your vehicles on the surface. It will be worth it. Hope it turns out great.
HMM I wonder if this thread wll get locked like mine did on the same subject and for apparently no reason.
But anyways there is really no way around the curing time. if you do it in sections its kind of hard to clean and prep one side while the other side already has the epoxy on it (i tried) I have all my cars outside right now.
The only solution I have used is that after 3 days to put cardboard on the floor and you can still park in the garage. It would be best though for the car to have several hours for the tires to cool off first because they get really hot.
i have used this and similar products. Wait at least four days. Also - very important.... etch the concrete twice and rinse off thouroughly with muriatic acid and then the degreaser at least twice and rinse. The directions say not to use muriatic acid but opening the concrete pores is the best way to go. The sprinkles also help with lap marks as this stuff dries very fast.

wait!!!! i didnt. and would not recomend not waiting. i have 4 nice little spots that keep coming up with hot tires. not to mention the wonderfull spots on both sides where i wasnt smart enough to put down a piece of plywood when using my floor jack. floor jacks ruin the epoxy paint fast!!!!!!! other than that its pretty cool stuff. make sure the temp is at the called for range also. too hot and that stuff will harden before you can put it all down. oh, and there is not near enough paint chips in there so use them sparringly
