Steel shift fork was added mid year 03 (not sure how to trace this by VIN number), and is a big deal to me. I went after 04's just to ensure I got that improvement, but that's just me. I also think 04's will demonstrate stronger resale value overall since they are the "last of the C5's". Also, keep in mind that some 04's still have factory warranty remaining, and are eligible for GMPP extended warranty.
Didn't somthing about the fuel system on the 04's carry over as well?
Yes, all 2004s have the redesigned FFS fuel system which was introduced partway through the 2003 model year starting with 2003 VIN 35114929 produced on 11/25/02, so I've read.
Of course all the '03's have the 50th anniversary badge and there is the 50th red as well which is anything but rare.
Actually, the 50th anniversary red was never offered on any 2003 Z06, just coupes and convertibles, where as the commerative addition lemans blue for 2004 was offered on all models (z16 package for the Z06).
Thanks a lot for that link about the FFS fuel system!
