Default 2 questions!!

1) I have an '01 C5...would any other year, ie. '02/'03, blackwing fit on my car?

2) I'm about to change the oil in my car. I'm unsure of how many quarts to refill it with. I have heard anything from 6 to 6.5 to 7.

Please let me know guys, thanks!

The '01 and newer cars should all be the same for fitting a Blackwing.

As far as the oil changes, it's somewhere between 6.5 and 7 quarts with the filter. Pull the dipstick out before you start putting the oil in to keep it clean, after you've put in 6.5 quarts, check the oil, and see where the level is realative to the "full" line on the dipstick. Add as neccessary to bring the level up to where it needs to be.

97-00 are all the same and 01-04 are all the same, the only difference between the 2 is a slightly different hose that connects it to the air bridge, the intake itself is the same.

official answer on the oil is 6.5qts, but with blacksedan

This is one that gets a lot of disagreement. The book says 6.5 qts with oil filter. with blacksedan87 that it would be good to start with 6.5 and top up from there. Some members say thay get 7 qts in for full. Just under is better than over IMHO.

Dont forget to prime the filter with oil before you put it back on.

If you do the oil change properly and elevate the rear slightly higher than the front you should get all the oil out of the pan. Then it should take 7 qts. to fill. don't forget to fill the filter when reinstalling.
