weird noise from vert top

weird noise from vert top
when i go to lower the top on my 2000 vert, it makes anew noise when i press the yellow release button, is there something i sould be lubricating? and if so what and where should i look? just started doing this, it occurs whenever you push yellow release button or go to raise cover up to put the top down, any ideas?

Where does the noise come from? I imagine it's right from the locking mechanism which I believe is right on top of your waterfall. Depending on the noise, you may want to take the waterfall's face off and have a look while pushing the button. I have not heard of this on the forum before, FWIW, this is new to me.

Thats a new one. I don't hear anything other than the expected "pop" when I press the button. Mine is a 2000 as well and no problems. May just be a normal maintenance situation where you need to lube the lock mechanisim up a bit.

no it is coming from the release mechanism wherever it is located i am going to do some looking this weekend to see if i can find where it is coming from,it is actuated by pressing the yellow release button
