I just got a 02 vette that I am finding out that the paint needs some TLC. Does any body know any painters/body shop who is knowledgable about vettes in the Detroit area. Somebody did recommend Collex.

Best responses will be if you post in the specific 'area' section of the Forum - in your case, Great Lakes.
Not Collex!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know them personally? Go to someone you that has previous experience with them! Spend a few extra bucks, you might have the car for some time.
Collex on 14 & mound sucks
I know this is a little bit of a drive but Vison Auto in Haslett, Michigan which is only about an hour and 15 from where you are I think. They do absolutely fantastic work on vettes of any vintage. My buddies and I have been using them for a long time and if you don't like the work they will fix to your satisfaction but don't think that would be an issue. Let me know if you are interested and I will give you a name and number.
I have used JZ's Collision in Redford for rr bumper repaint on my 00 and complete job on my 70. They know Corvettes and do an outstanding quality job. www.jzscollision.com. 313-533-0001. Not a cheapy shop, but, prices are competetive and definitely lower than a Dealer's Body Shop.
I just got my vette back from Autometrics on 10 mile and Van **** and am VERY impressed with their work. I could not even tell that any paint work was done. It took only one day to get the paint on my bumber fixed and they even detailed my car. I HIGHLY recomend them.
