Default Slow Windows - Why?

The passenger window on my 03 AE Coupe goes up slower than the drivers side. Why? Can it be - or does it need to be - lubed?

OK, so it takes longer you say - so what?
Well, I run the Window Valet for putting the windows down AND up. The nice thing about putting them up is stopping them just before full close for venting in hot weather (and we all got hot weather now!). But with the slower window, stopping for vent leaves a larger gap on one side than the other.

So again, can it be - or does it need to be - lubed? Or is there another calibration or adjustment I'm missing?

I've not played with the Vert but I fitted power windows to the Camaro.

If the fits similar it could be a number of things. The scissor shackles need a good lubrication or they run slow. That's where I'd start. There's a buffer which holds the window glass tight against the weather seal. If its over tight it can slow the window down but normally only near the top.

The bad news is it could be the motor on the way out. The motors slowly give up the ghost and go slow before they quit. Basically they can't cope with the effort.

Maybe someone who has done work on the Vette will chime up.

Hope this helps.

i had to have the door control and window motor replaced on mine because i wanted mine fixed. the gmpp covered mine. i dont know what one caused the slow window. the computer was replaced because the fob would not function correctly i think. my previous gm had a passenger window that did the same thing as my c5 driver window and it had the passanger window motor replaced. i think they all use the same electric motor.
