Hi all, i am just in the process of changing the tyres and wheels on my 2000 C5, from stock rims to the thin 5 spoke magnesium ones
and was wondering how easy it is to remove the sensors from the old rims to put in the new rims and also is there any sort of recalibration need to reset the sensors to the new tyres, which incidentally will be dunlop sportmax.
thank you very much in advance for any help.
cheers daryn
No problem at all. Just unscrew the retaining nut from the outside of the wheel and the sensor comes right out. You will not even have to retrain the sensors if you remember to put them on the same corresponding new wheels. You might want to replace the o-ring seals. Most people just use #9 o-rings from Lowes or Home Depot.

Perfect advice..
One note, in case you did not know this, the wheel sensors are recognized by the computer by the position they are in, ie: RR, RF, LR, LF. So as my6thvette said, "You will not even have to retrain the sensors if you remember to put them on the same corresponding new wheels." Meaning the sensor that came from your Right Front goes back into the new Right Front wheel and so on, all will be fine...
