Default Viewing your HUD durring the day

I can barely make out the speed I am doing on my HUD when driving on a sunny day and as far as seeing the other instrumentation readings, forget it I can’t even make them out. Is this common? Do I need to replace a bulb? Wondering how the rest of you guys/gals HUD viewing ability is when driving during the day. Oh, before anyone responds, I have the display settings pushed up to the maximum setting.

Take your sunglasses off.

The HUD is essentially glare on the windshield.

Mines readable even on the brightest Vegas day

I know some members have had problems using polarized sunglasses.

Hmmm, I didn't think about my sunglasses. However, that kind of sucks. After a mild case of snow blindness in my teens it is pretty painfull for me to drive on a sunny day without sunglasses. Is there a way around this?

I had the same problem when I was wearing polarized sunglasses. Went back to regular sunglasses and that fixed the problem.

Regular sunglasses shouldn't be a problem... but polarized are as others have said. On bright days with the top down, I use good polarized glasses and the HUD is VERY dim. Almost invisable against light colored backgrounds. Hopefully you can find some quality non-polarized glasses that will work for you.

Polarized sunglasses almost makes the HUD invisible, when I look over them as I'm driving, it's back to normal...

I've never had that problem, but then again, I only wear cheap sunglasses.

There are times, depending on where the sun is in relation to my car, that viewing the HUD display is difficult. Just the nature of the display. For most of the time, I can still make out the numbers.

Had that problem recently as well. Brightness all the way up, when I was driving , if the sun hit the windshield the right way, it would show everything thats possible on the display, like it was broken, then it would go back to normal. I could see it, but it would show it all (if that makes any sense! LOL)

My wife bought me a nice pair of Izod sunglasses which are polarized. Now I have trouble seeing the radio, gages, etc. Can't see the HUD at all now. I kinda want my cheapo glasses back. Without polarized I can see it fine on even the sunniest day.
