Weight Question...Settle Debate
I need to know the gross weight of our C5's. Does anybody know exactly what it is or where I can find it. The Door jam lables list total weight with max load, not just the weight of the car itself.
The Street Rod Nationals are in Louisville, KY this week and I was out there look around for 2 days. Today I was in a discussion with a guy and he said his Angela weighed 2865, I said my vette was 3200+. He said no way they weigh 3900+. I know I read somewhere the weight is 3200+, but I want the exact amount to go show him tomorrow.
HELP!!!!!!

The C5 vert weighs 3247 lbs - about the same as the coupe with glass top. Chop off 25 lbs by switching to non-runflats and another 20 lbs by swapping out the stock cat-backs with Borlas and you're down to about 3200 lbs.

Weight will vary with options. Find a local truck scale or landfill. They have scales. Know how much fuel you have in the tanks.

My old brain remembered close to the exact numbers.
I will love telling the street rod guys they are wrong about the vette being 3700 or 3800 pounds.

I go up to the scales all the time, usually out of boredom. My car weighs- with about 3/4 tank of gas, plus me ~185lbs, 99'Coupe,6spd comes in @ 1530-1540 kgs. So ~3366 lbs.
Actually, that might be with 1/2 tank of gas, i cant remember.
