I made my own jack pucks from rubber hockey pucks and 1 in eye bolt. Use them only a few times and haven't failed yet. I'm assuming the ones that cracked were plastic.

Not I.

Have mine for a number of years.

Used them quite often - a least once a month for over 3 years.

Wonder what the cause of this is - possible that they weren't set in the holes right?

Here is another option. We've been selling these through one of the local catalog companies and are know selling them in our online store.

Check out our "New" C5 Frame Rails:

Jim Booth from Corvette Accessories Unlimited here!

We are waiting to get them back to analyze what could have happened as we have sold well over 10,000 JP’s and have not heard of any failures before. We feel that there could have been an air pocket, but that seems unlikely for more than one. Heat or cold should not make any difference on the product, nor when they were made.

We went with this type of product in the beginning when we heard complaints that the others were sliding on racks and jack stands as they were metal to metal, plus ours are a little thicker to allow for different kind of Jacks.

We will analyze them with our the company that makes the rubber part of the JP’s when we get them back. He can not understand what happened either.

Questions you may call us directly at 262-783-4228.

Everyone,

I have to thank CAU-LLC in regard to this issue. They have been more than accomodating towards me and I'm glad this defect has been found with no serious injury to myself or anyone else. I'm more than happy to help them improve their product by sending these back to them for analysis. I also spoke to them on the phone today and they were very friendly and helpful. Its very nice to see a vendor stand behind their product like this even if it does fail. We'll keep you posted!

i guess there are probably some scratchs on the frame, but you can't see it anyways. As long as it doesn't bend anything, which would have happened by now, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

So do I. Glad you didn't get hurt. Hope everyone takes what happened with the rubber pucks and goes to solid aluminum.
