I asked the same question last week and did the very same research....and found what you found !
I painted the logo in the passenger air bag with hobby paint I mixed. I bought a color that was very close, but darker and a color that was close but lighter. Mixed them a bit at a time, checking the neutral color against the lower area of my door. When I was satisfied I painted a small cardboard paper and let it dry. I then compared it again the then got to painting.
All in all, it turned out really nice.
